Solving the Lock-in Dilemma with Data Science
In fantasy basketball, players have multiple games per week, so you’re forced to choose one game to “lock-in” for the week. This causes several challenges for a team manager, which we decided to address with data science.
In our Fantasy Basketball Optimization series, we showcase how we addressed our challenges from a data-driven mindset and built it an automated cloud pipeline that helped us manage our team (and eventually win first place!)

About Us
Data is everywhere in our daily lives, whether you realize it or not. With smart phones, smart watches, and all kinds of other “smart” devices, we’re collecting more data than ever. However, the average person’s data literacy skills haven’t been able to keep up.
This limits applications to either very simple summary statistics and visualizations that barely scratch the surface of what’s possible or remote black box solutions with little to no human interaction and visibility to the process.
Here at Daily Data, our goal is to introduce more advanced analytics concepts and applications to everyday people to inspire new ways of using data. While many people are intimidated by advanced data and analytics concepts, we aim to break these down in a format that’s easy to understand and provides a better understanding of data altogether.
